Jeri joined Employee Benefits Law Group in 2008 with more than 25 years of retirement plan administration and consulting experience. She helps plan sponsors and service providers with a wide variety of qualified retirement plan issues, focusing on plan compliance and corrections.
Jeri reviews and amends plan documents, and consults on plan design to ensure that plans run smoothly and comply with all applicable regulations. She works seamlessly with plan sponsors, plan participants and plan service providers, including third-party administrators, record keepers and investment providers.
Jeri has deep experience with qualified defined contribution and defined benefit retirement plans, compliance and nondiscrimination testing, plan design and implementation, plan terminations and mergers and IRS and Department of Labor reporting, including the Employee Plans Compliance Program and handling audits or investigations.
She began her career as a defined benefit administrator and has focused in recent years on ESOPs and 401(k) plans. She is a qualified 401(k) administrator and an enrolled retirement plan agent.
Jeri is a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) and the National Institute of Pension Administrators (NIPA). She has taught a variety of classes and workshops on retirement plan topics, including Employee Benefits in Personal Financial Planning for the University of California, Davis Extension, preparation courses for ASPPA certifications and workshops for the Sacramento and Fresno chapters of NIPA. She has served as past president and a board member of NIPA’s Sacramento chapter.
